China and South Korea signed Light Alloys Development Cooperative Agreement

    Prof. Kwang Seon Shin, Vice President of South Korean Institute of Metals and Materials, Director of Research Institute of Advanced Materials Magnesium Technology Innovation Center, SNU (Seoul National University), Prof. Nack Joon Kim, President of South Korean Institute of Metals and Materials, Editor-in-Chief of the Metals and Materials International, Pohang University of Science & Technology, Prof. Do Hyang Kim, Director of Defence Nano Technology Application Center and Amorphous alloy in Yonsei University and their party arrived in Chongqing on August 1, 2012. They investigated the R&D and industrialization of light alloys in Chongqing for two days, and signed a related cooperation agreement. They also had academic exchange and discussion about cooperative research.
    The delegation visited the College of Materials Science and Engineering of Chongqing University, National Engineering Research Center for Magnesium Alloys, Chongqing Academy of Science & Technology and Chongqing Boao Mg-Al Manufacturing Co. Ltd. The two sides developed the cooperation and exchange during in Chongqing. Basis on the understanding of each other academic research ability, Prof. Pan Fusheng of Chongqing University and prof. Jiang Xianquan of Chongqing Academy of Science & Technology, respectively representing National Engineering Research Center for Magnesium Alloys and Chongqing Academy of Science & Technology, signed agreement and cooperation in the development of magnesium alloy and aluminum alloys with the Seoul National University, Pohang University of Science & Technology and Yonsei University respectively in the afternoon of August 3. They determined a long-term cooperation goal and also had a full discussion about the recently research project.
    In addition, Prof. Zhang Dingfei, Prof. Zhang Jing, and Prof. Peng Jian of Chongqing University, Prof. Lei Xiaoling, Deputy Director of Chongqing Academy of Science & Technology, Dr. Cheng Renju and Dr.Yang Jing of new materials center also participated in the signing ceremony and discussion.
    After the signing ceremony, Prof. Kwang Seon Shin invited Prof. Jiang Bin et al. six experts of National Engineering Research Center for Magnesium Alloys to visit Seoul National University and Pohang University of Science & Technology in August of this year.
