The training of “lightweight and energy saving of automotive materials” held in Magnesium Center

    The training of “lightweight and energy saving of automotive materials” co-organized by the National Engineering Research Center for Magnesium Alloys and Chongqing Materials Society, commenced on April 2, 2010. The training object was mainly focused on the large and medium-sized state-owned enterprises, private enterprises, universities and research institutes in Chongqing with the training contents about the lightweight and energy conservation of automotive materials. Prof. Ma Mingtu, Vice general engineer of National Institute for Automotive Engineering, Prof. Long Siyuan, the National Engineering Research Center for Magnesium Alloys, Senior Engineer Ma Ji, vice president of the Research Institute of Changan Automobile Group Co. Ltd. gave the reports about the selection and development trend of automotive lightweight materials, the application of magnesium alloys in the automotive field and the practice of the automotive lightweight in Changan Automobile Group Co. Ltd., respectively. They also had a lively exchange and discussion with participants in the seminar. Through this training, the participants had been more in-depth understood in the field of the lightweight automobile and auto energy saving and hoped that more similar trainings would be organized by the National Engineering Research Center for Magnesium Alloys in the future.
