Dr. B E.Carlson of General Motors Corp., USA visited magnesium center

In the morning of April 14, 2010, Dr. Blair E. Carlson, Manager of the Development Center connection and the Corrosion Laboratory of General Motors Corp., USA and Dr. Wang Peizhong, Chinese scientific research center of GM visited our center.  Prof. Pan Fusheng, Director of the National Engineering Research Center for Magnesium Alloys and Prof. Zhang Dingfei, Vice director of the National Engineering Research Center for Magnesium Alloys, gave them a cordial reception. Both sides had a full discussion and exchange on issues of common concern in the expanding applications of magnesium alloys in the automotive. They agreed that, in view of the great potential and advantages of magnesium alloys in automotive applications and some technical issues in current research, both sides should jointed together, combined the advantages and shared the resource of each other. In addition, both sides agreed that they should promote vigorously the research and development of new materials and new technology of magnesium alloys, to further reduce the costs and improve product reliability.
