Ultra-light Mg-based alloys with a low density of 1.2-1.6g/cm³ and excellent plastic processing performance, has practical significance in aerospace and defense and military, and other high-tech fields. Through the research and development in magnesium center recent years, the center has successfully mastered the solvent-free melting, alloy composition, the properties controlling and the key processing technology of extrusion and rolling of the ultra-light Mg-based  alloys, and had successfully prepared ultra-light Mg-based  alloy ingots, extrusion profiles and sheet of rolled products. In addition, the center has established a pilot production line with an annual output of 50 tons of ultra-light Mg-based alloy ingot, which can supply batch goods.
