The magnesium alloy delegation of United States and Canada visited magnesium center

    In the morning of April 7, 2008, the magnesium alloy delegation of United States and Canada, 12 people, visited the National Engineering Research Center for Magnesium Alloys. All the members of delegations were the mainly key researcher who participated in the international cooperation project of the China, United States and Canada named “Magnesium Front End Research and Development (MFERD)”, including Dr. Eric of Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, Dr. Randy of Chevrolet, Drs. Kumar and Pierre of Natural Resources Canada and Prof. Jeffrey of University of Western Ontario etc. Prof. Liu Qing, president of the College of Materials Science and Engineering, Prof. Zhang Dingfei, vice-president of the College of Materials Science and Engineering, Prof. Ding Peidao and Prof. Long Siyuan of College of Mechanical Engineering received the delegations in the meeting room of center. After introducing the basis of work and the advantage of research of each other, the two sides discussed about the cooperation intention of magnesium alloy, including research and development, industrialization, transfer of achievements and the students training and so on, which would promote the communication and cooperation of each other in the future.
