In the afternoon of August 22, 2009, The delegation of Foxconn Technology Group, including Sun Yulin special assistant to chairman, Zhang Jianren general manager, Yu Zhikang special assistant to the general manager, Li Naiyi deputy general manager etc. twelve people visited magnesium center, after Mr. Terry Gou, Chairman of Foxconn Technology Group visiting Chongqing.
   Prof. Zhang Dingfei, Vice-director of the National Engineering Research Center of magnesium alloys, Prof. Long Siyuan, Prof. Gao Jiacheng and Prof. Zhang Zonghe received the delegation in the meeting room of magnesium center. Firstly, Prof. Zhang Dingfei introduced the development of magnesium industry in China and Chongqing city and the progress of research and development of magnesium alloys in magnesium center. Prof. Long Siyuan, vice-director of magnesium center, gave an introduction about the research and development of the die-casting technology and the equipment as well as magnesium alloy products used in automotive industries. Dr. Zhong Guorong of Foxconn Technology Group, also briefly introduced the current research and the planning of magnesium alloy industries in Foxconn Technology Group. After visiting the exhibitions rooms of magnesium alloys products in magnesium center, they had an ardent discussion about the development and trends of the magnesium alloys technology and products and the possible cooperation in magnesium alloys. Finally, they made a framework in the cooperation of research and development and the technologies in the future.
   The visiting was based on that the Foxconn Technology Group intended to build twenty million laptop computer industry base and magnesium alloys base for cars, motorcycles, 3C products in Chongqing. Sun Yu Lin, special assistant to the chairman of Foxconn Technology Group, said that it would soon enter the substantive operation of the project and investment after this investigation.
