In the morning of May 5, 2009, Chen Xi, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Education and his entourage, accompanied by Ou Keping, Chairman of University Council, and Li Xiaohong, President of Chongqing University, visited the National Engineering Research Center of magnesium alloys.
    Prof. Liu Qing, Vice director of the National Engineering Research Center of magnesium alloys and Dean of department of materials science and engineering, gave a report in details about the achievements and significance of the magnesium alloys in scientific research and industrialization in magnesium center. Chen Xi, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Education, highly affirmed the work of magnesium center.
    Li Xiaohong, representing Chongqing University, welcomed to Chen Xi and his entourage. He introduced the basic situation of Chongqing University, the achievements of the talent trainings and base construction in recent years, and expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Education for the long-term supports, and also hoped that the Ministry of Education would continue to support Chongqing University in the future, which make the university to become a first-class University.
